365 Kindness: Year 1, Day 13,14,15,16

Hi,

I'm not gone. I got sucked into the world of drama and hurt.

In Ontario Canada the provincial government is cutting out essential school funding because of lack of money but they are also implementing 48million dollars a day in what many are calling a "bribe" to parents for childcare when the teachers are on strike.

Missouri is working on sending Librarians to Jail for lending out material which is deemed to not be age inappropriate. Basically bringing banned books to a whole new level and bringing freedom to information closer to extinction. Anyone read Fahrenheit 451? Anyone know the first things to be controlled when a dictator takes control? Books, information, media. This is scary shit. More info here.

People on social media are more and more mean and negative, good news is seen less and less online and in newspapers and Starbucks was out of all my favorite things! The world really is ending!

So, as you can see, I got stuck in that negative place where everything is bad, there is no hope and who cares what I do or if I take care myself, the world is going to shit anyway. But guess what? It's not!

I took some time today to look at the good in the world and for every person like Ford(leader of the government harming children's education where I live) or the people in Missouri also harming kids education and sending people to jail for providing knowledge, there is 2 people who are good, who are kind and who are moving the people around them to a better world.

So, let me share some kindness and good with you. I started this project to highlight the good and the kindness in our world, I started it to not get lost in the hate and the hurt our world is experiencing. The hurt, hate and destructive negative emotions that some are saying we are not only experiencing, but also releasing. If these last four days have taught me something it's that we need kindness in our world now, more than ever before. We need to shift our thoughts from 'the world is out to get me and everyone had bad ulterior motives' to 'I will consciously seek out the good in people and in my surroundings'.

So, without further ado here is some good.

1) Australia is finally getting some Rain! It might cause some flooding but for now it's better than the fires. See more here.

2)Librarians and book lovers have been through many oppressive regimes. They can handle whats happening in Missouri. Check out, "Timbuktu's Badass Librarians" for a bit of hope. Story can be found here.

3) This one mostly concerns fellow Ontarian's, but many parents are not falling for the Ford governments "bribe" and are accepting the money only to donate it to the teachers and schools of their choice. Look at this cool petition which now almost at 4,000 people and is climbing by the minute! Check it out here.

4) This song is now 32 years old but still as awesome as ever. As he says "every life we have some trouble, but when we worry we make it double, don't worry, be happy". Listen to it here.

5) Puppies. I mean puppies always make me happy. See this puppy centered news story here. (there is quite a few ads on this site but it is a reputable online newspaper site and such a cute read!)

Google images tells me the image comes from this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sUOvDzmrks

Ok, so this cheered me up! How about you?

Love and Light to you all and until tomorrow ( I promise).
