365 Kindness: Year 1, Day 4
Today I want to highlight people spreading kindness and offering help for the Australian fires which are happening right now.
It's a huge deal. A day ago it is predicted that the fires burned 14.5 million acres and that about half a BILLION native animals have been killed and that number is only rising. Many people have been displaced or seen their homes burn and that's not even touching on the impact this fire has on climate change. Also, important to mention that Australia's peak fire season is only just starting. (1)
We need a lot more people involved in helping this huge negative event. But for now here is one story of someone stepping up. A second story will be go up tomorrow.
Story 1: Pink donates 500,000 dollars to help the Australia Wildfires.
The title of the article speaks for itself so I will leave it at that and let you read it at your discretion.
Something to keep in mind is that when the Notre Dame Cathedral went up in flame for 15 hours or less and almost 1 BILLION dollars(2) was donated to help rebuild it in record time.
The issue in Australia is far more pressing than a burning landmark, so I hope more people will follow Pinks lead and pledge support for Australia, Notre Dame was an example of what we can do if we all work together to save something we deem important. We are all interconnected in this world and such an event like the Australian Wildfires affects you, me and our planet no matter where we live on it.
Love and Light to you all and until tomorrow.
