365 Kindness: Year 1, Day 57 - Party Princess Ottawa

Hello everyone!

I am excited to feature another person for this 365 Kindness project! If you are new to this project, I do my best to find someone who spreads Kindness, empowerment or inspiration in what they do and then feature them here on my website. I usually do this once a week.

I do my best to feature people from a wide range of backgrounds and professions because I believe kindness, empowerment and inspiration are present everywhere.

Today I am going to be featuring the Party Princess Ottawa experience. I have a wonderful person who is known to many as “The Fairy Godmother” who will provide the answers on behalf on the Party Princess Ottawa. I will let her introduce herself and Party Princess Ottawa below!

The Party Princess Ottawa is a local children’s birthday party service that sends fairy-tale characters right to your home! I offer Ottawa’s Premier Princess Performances because I strive to bring a little bit of magic into everything I do. From having high quality wigs and costumes to having copious experience working with kids as a teacher, entertainer, party hostess, councillor and caretaker to being a professional performer with a background in opera, classical acting and musical theatre. I strive to bring kids the most authentic magical experience that I can. My company was opened based on the principals of providing fun, high-quality, affordable parties. Every child's birthday is uniquely special, and every child deserves to have the most magical and memorable experience as possible.

What does the Fairy Godmother think about Kindness?

The word kindness means being compassionate and respectful in all situations. It is a choice to be kind and to spread kindness in the world. It’s a choice that applies to everyone around you because you don’t have to have any pre-existing relationship with that person to be kind to them. Small acts of kindness are the best of all because there is no requirement for them. You do them because you want to make the world a better place!

In this company I strive to teach children that being a true princess isn’t about wearing a beautiful dress or marrying a prince. Its about the kindness and caring you show to others and yourself. I implement this in every aspect of the parties. From doing makeup and dress-up to the story times and dancing I teach them that what is most important above all is being kind. It’s a great opportunity to share this message because it is coming from their role models and allows them to ask questions and discuss it openly. We talk about how they can spread kindness in the kingdom and how they can make the decision to chose to be kind even when they might not be so inclined. They love to participate in Storytime and tell me all the ways that you can be kind at school, with their friends or even with new people they meet!

I want to spread the message that everyone can be a princess if they want to be. It never has to do with your size, race, skin colour, height or anything else. It has to do with how you treat others and yourself. Be kind to other people because it might brighten their day! Be kind to yourself because you deserve it! I want to be able to send this message to the kids I work with. I love being able to use my company to make such a positive impact and to spread kindness whenever I can.
